Dr. Josie Yang
Optometrist
Dr. Josie Yang grew up in the north Seattle area and received her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Washington. She received her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from the University of California, Berkeley – School of Optometry. Dr. Yang’s optometric experiences include: the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Sacramento, CA, Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, CA, Castle Family Health Center in Atwater, CA, and the Puget Sound Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Lakewood, WA. Her optometric interests range from ocular disease to multifocal contact lens fittings. Dr. Yang is a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and VOSH Northwest. Dr. Yang is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. Outside of optometry Dr. Yang enjoys running, hiking, and baking.
Dr. Steven Nguyen
Optometrist
Dr. Steven L. Nguyen was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington with a degree in psychology. He received his doctorate of optometry from Southern California College of Optometry with honors.
Dr. Nguyen’s optometric experiences include: Pinon Indian Health Services in Pinon, Arizona, The Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Las Vegas, NV, and Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Nguyen has practiced in a variety of clinical settings ranging from working with a pediatric ophthalmologist to working in an emergency room trauma center in an Arizona Native American reservation, as well as serving our veterans at a Veteran’s Hospital in Las Vegas. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Optometric Physician of Washington. Dr. Nguyen’s optometric interests include multi-focal contact lens fitting, emergency ocular care, and most importantly overall patient education.
Dr. Nguyen enjoys helping out in the community especially providing eye care for the homeless and volunteering in local school screenings. During his free time, he likes to spend time with friends and family, travel, golf, sports (Go Huskies!), and hanging out with his dog, Jack.
Dr. Destiny McCoy
Optometrist
Dr. McCoy was born in California, but her military upbringing allowed her to live in multiple states and countries before settling in the Northwest. Dr. McCoy found her passion for vision care early and worked as both an optician and an optometric technician before her medical training. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Pacific University and her doctorate from Western University College of Optometry. She is a current member of the American Optometric Association and Optometric Physicians of Washington. Dr. McCoy enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is passionate about providing them great vision care. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and traveling.
